behind-the-ear-hearing-aid- Behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids fit behind the ear and hook into the ear canal. This style features a small plastic case that houses the hearing aid components and attaches to a custom ear mold with clear plastic tubing. These sturdy hearing aids are easy to handle and clean, and the ear molds can be replaced as needed. For those reasons, BTEs are often used for children who may outgrow their ear molds. They are available in a wide range of colors to match an individual’s hair or skin.
Oticon RITE Receiver-in-the-ear (RITE) devices represent a new development in hearing aids. Compared to the BTE, the receiver is placed in the ear-tip, reducing its size as compared to being placed in the housing.

ITE In-the-ear or half shell (ITE/HS) hearing aids are somewhat larger than other styles as the components are contained in a shell that fits into the outer ear. Their larger size makes them easier to adjust than other hearing aid styles and more useful for people with mild to severe hearing loss.
CIC - Widex Completely-in-the-canal (CIC) hearing aids are custom-molded to fit in the user’s ear canal, making them nearly invisible. They are useful for mild hearing loss in adults and offer the cosmetic benefit of fitting in the ear canal. The small size, however, may make CICs more difficult for some people to adjust.
Oticon-IIC-new Invisible-in-the-canal (IIC) hearing aids showcase the latest in digital technology. The tiny IIC is custom-fitted to sit deep inside the ear canal so it is virtually invisible. It is fully automatic and removable by a small cord. The IIC is most useful for those with mild to moderate hearing loss.
